Butterflies!

While we are working here near Thanksgiving Point, one afternoon Trish and I went over to visit the astonishing Butterfly Biosphere.

The Biosphere itself is like a large tropical greenhouse with levels and layers of gorgeous green and blooming plants.  Flying everywhere are multiple species of butterflies, all of which are hatched right here and are released into the Biosphere in additional numbers twice each day.

We watch them with curiosity as they land and feed on orange slices, bananas, and nectar. They also feed on the many blooming plants that inhabit their safe environment.

They seem to trust Trish as they land on her and are in no hurry to escape her holding them.  I do not have as much sweet luck as she has.

This is a beautiful and educational place to visit.  You can see into the hatchery where rows and rows of new ones are in various stages of transformation into beautiful fliers.  A stop well north making.
