Back Home a Bit

When we left Lion Country we decided not to pull the Airstream all the way home since we would be coming back to Disney World in a month.  We found a place near Disney where we could leave the camper there and it would be waiting for us in February.  It is called ADULT TOY STORAGE, and they keep boats and cars and campers!

Without the camper, we had to spend the night in a hotel before going on, so, since we were right there, we spent two nights at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and had a little preview visit to Magic Kingdom and Epcot to get ready for our February trip.  The fun was that, since we knew we were coming back, we were in no hurry to do anything!  A great way to visit.

In no hurry at EPCOT.

The next stop was the Pike Piddlers Storytelling Festival in Brundidge and Troy, Alabama.  We had a great time there with Barbara McBride-Smith, Bil Lepp, and Josh Goforth.  This was the fourteenth year for this little gem of a festival, a stop that I make every year.  It starts with a dinner theatre on Friday and goes to an auditorium on the Troy University campus for the day on Saturday.

From Troy, we drive to Greensboro on Sunday where we got to have a dinner visit with our son, Jonathan, and his wife, Kahran...they are always fun to be with.

Monday we got home in hopes that progress was made in the house while we were gone.  Everything is so slow because everyone needs everything done at the same time.  But, we had had most of the plumbing work done, most of the electrical work done, and the dry wall finished down to the final finish coat.  We also learned that our paints were being mixed and would be ready for painting as soon as the drywall is done.  At that time flooring can also go in and we will see a great change.

We have been living over the garage for nearly five months now and look forward to finding all of our stuff again.  Oh yes, at last our final flood insurance check came...what a relief to have that done.
